Deer Park Recap

Wyoming-41 - Deer Park-12

On Friday, Wyoming continued it's CHL win streak with a 41-12 trashing of the Deer Park Wildcats on their home field. The Cowboys are now 3-0 in the CHL, and move their overall record to 4-2. The Cowboys, however, still trail the Madeira Mustangs in the CHL standings.

After getting a slow start in the game, the Cowboys put their foot on the brake and never looked back. After trading touchdowns with the Wildcats in the first two quarters, the Cowboys went up by 7 going into half. Then, they utilized the superb passing attack to score 3 TDs in the 3rd quarter to bring the score to the eventual final of 49-12.

QB Will Marty and WR Ben Kurtz looked like All Pros playing with 3rd graders as they connected for 301 yards of Marty's 434. With this stellar performance, Kurtz broke two Wyoming school records with 13 receptions in a game (previous record 11) and and most receiving yards in a game (previous 224).  Kurtz had one TD as well, a ten yard pass turned into a 65 yard scamper for paydirt. Marty hooked up with all four of his wideouts for Touchdowns, throwing to Dominic Vamosi, Dawson Rogers, Bilal Dawson, and Kurtz for scores. Junior Running Back Terrell Dailey also had two scores on 14 yards.

On defense, the Cowboys held the opponents to 15 points or less for the 4th straight week, only allowing two TDs, both in the air. Senior Conner Hughes led the team in tackles with 11.

Next week, the Cowboys stay on the road against Taylor and hope to keep their win streak alive.
