Wyoming Cowboys (0-2) Madison Mohawks (2-0)
This week, the Cowboys hope to take hold of their season after two straight losses, a one point heartbreaker against Fenwick, and a 20 point loss at the hands of powerful Turpin. This week, the Cowboys face the Middletown Madison Mohawks (2-0) out of the SWBL. The Mohawks come into Wyoming after beating two CHL teams, Deer Park and Indian Hill.
In addition to what had to be tough emotions, the Cowboys come off of the Turpin loss without 3 defensive starters. Junior DE Griffin O'Gara is out for 6 weeks with a torn ACL, Junior DL Ike Palmer goes out with a broken foot, and Junior Ken Darlington goes out indefinitely with a head injury. In the wake of this, there will be movement on the line, including Freshman Cooper O'Gara stepping up to take Palmer's place.
Along with the trouble on defense, the Cowboys also took a blow when starting RB Terrell Dailey left the game on Friday with a knee injury. Although Dailey is expected to return on Friday, it will be interesting to see if he can play through some pain and perform at the same level.
The Cowboys defense has been shaky in their first two starts, but if they finally step up with their young players, they can really make a move to win this game. However, they will have to defend against the rushing abilities of Tre Owens, who scored 4 rushing TDs in the first 2 game for the Mohawks. QB Will Marty should produce as well as he did in his first two starts, throwing for 485 yards in his first two games.
